Job Description
NYC-Sales Inc. is seeking an energetic and motivated Full-Time Sales Associate to join our Sporting Goods department. In this role, you will be the face of our department, focusing on providing top-notch customer service and driving sales. Your key responsibilities will include assisting customers with product selection, maintaining merchandising standards, and keeping the sales floor organized.
Our ideal candidate is enthusiastic about sports, has excellent communication skills, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The Sales Associate should be knowledgeable about various sporting goods, from apparel to equipment, and be able to offer advice and recommendations tailored to each customer’s needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; higher education preferred
- Previous retail or customer service experience, preferably in a sporting goods environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Passion for and knowledge about various sports and outdoor activities
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Provide expert advice on various sporting goods, ensuring customers find the right products to meet their needs
- Maintain a clean and organized sales floor, including restocking merchandise and setting up displays
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently
- Stay up-to-date on product knowledge and trends in the sporting goods industry
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly
- Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a college degree is a plus
- Previous experience in retail or customer service, with a preference for candidates with experience in sporting goods
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Enthusiastic and positive attitude towards helping customers
- Physical stamina to perform tasks such as standing, walking, and lifting merchandise
- Passion for sports and the ability to share that enthusiasm with customers
