Job Description

PageTurner Books is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Sales Associate to join our thriving bookstore. As a Sales Associate, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers and ensuring their shopping experience is enjoyable and smooth. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting customers with book selections, restocking shelves, and maintaining the overall organization of the store.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic math skills for transactions and inventory management.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and bend/reach to stock shelves.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Customer Assistance: Greet customers and assist them in finding specific books and other merchandise.
• Sales Transactions: Operate the cash register, process payments, and handle returns and exchanges efficiently.
• Inventory Management: Restock shelves, manage book displays, and keep track of inventory levels.
• Product Knowledge: Stay informed about new releases, bestsellers, and upcoming author events to provide recommendations.
• Store Maintenance: Ensure the store is clean, organized, and visually appealing.
• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with fellow associates and managers to meet store goals and customer needs.
• Event Support: Assist in setting up and managing in-store events such as book signings and reading groups.
